To me it seems like something that will fill in the gaps after leaving Garmin also the accuracy seems to be second to none, then there are the training plans etc which would save me paying for Runna etc. Does it work well enough on the AW and what about the AW app?

I used it. With the Stryd app, WorkOutDoors and iSmoothRun. Accuracy is good, but my AW7 is also very good. So no need for me to use it anymore.
The Stryd app is ok. But you have to train by power. As I live in a mostly flat area, not too good concept for me. I train with pace as main metric.

Okay. Yeah around here I can’t go more than about 800m without some form of hill, very little flat areas around here.

Not to be misunderstood: I was a big Stryd fan. Used it as a high quality tool for races when I had a Garmin. Worked really good.
Training with power was not my thing though, I am a pace head.

Stryd has big issues with pace and distance accuracy when using different shoes. In the end I needed different calibration factors for every shoe. I stopped using Stryd completely. Way too complicated. For after run analysis the data from the Apple Watch is usable too

A couple of years ago I was using my Stryd for all my runs for pace and distance calculations, and ran by power on hilly trails.

But today’s Apple and Garmin watches have more accurate GPS that I haven’t felt the need to use Stryd for a while. I would possibly use it on a treadmill if I didn’t have a NPE Runn sensor (and I trained on the treadmill more often).
