Nice handy piece of technology if it works. Apparently gets windows programmes working right in your normal osx.

Only a limited few pieces of software listed as compatible though, can any users tell me if it is strictly these programmes or if other random softward has a 50/50 chance of working with it installed?
 
I've installed wine, which CrossOver is based on (wine is free and open-source too, so unless you're a fairly novice user I'd recommend it highly), and it works fine with many programs. It's not going to run everything, though, because it emulates a certain number of Windows .dll's, but not all. This means I don't think any viruses work in it, but it also means some programs don't run. I believe CrossOver's website has a decent compatibility list available.
