Hi,

I currently have a MBP and a 60Gb ish iTunes library (inc video). I am about to get my lovely new iMac and would like to have this library on both machines - which is easy enough the first time (I will copy my itunes library to disk etc and update xml file if neccesssary). The thing is, in the future I will be ripping CDs/adding video etc on either PC.

It seems like TuneRanger will keep both libraries identical... which sounds perfect.

But has anyone used it?

Thanks,

Neil

Reply:

I needed to sync a new MacBook Pro with my G5 and thought TuneRanger would be useful. I bought it but after half a day of stuffing around, having to find IP addresses, port numbers and enduring crashes, I gave up and did a manual backup/update in minutes. I just copied the library files over and list-viewed the music files in 'Date Modified' mode and copied the new ones over. The Compilations folder has to be done separately and I also found one in 'Unknown Album'/'Unknown Artist' that needed separate copying.

It also has the possibility of copying the wrong way through human error, which would replace your new library with the old one.

Thumbs down on Tune Ranger. It is a dog.
