Is there a way to create a custom emoji that can be added to the emoji keyboard?
There is no way to add a custom emoji as they are part of an international standard that cannot be added to or changed without going through the international body that maintains the standards for them.
nope. Can add a shortcut though
I typed a p l with no spaces. In keyboards shortcuts I copied and pasted the image and set it to type that when I type ap l
Maybe that will work for you.
Newmoticons has great characterbased faces that you can add to your keyboard shortcuts. Also consider adding Kana and Romaji (Japanese) keyboards, they too have ASCII emoticons.
You could ofcourse download a 3rd party keyboard app with emoji if you are running iOS8. See a huge list of keyboards at this topic.
even if there was a way i dont think the other end would be able to see them
This. If the keyboard uses the proper unicode character set for Emoji, then it will look the same across all Apple devices, and look like it should on Android, etc.
If it's just inserting images, then that should work. But I don't believe they would show up inline with text. That GIF keyboard is kinda fun to play with.
I just found one today called PopKey. Seems to work pretty well for what I wanna use lol.
That image is giving me flashbacks of MSN messenger
MySmilies and Messenger Plus! memories are rushing back into periphery.
You can save any picture you want, I just thought they are rather goofy and bring some comedy to the conversation
