HomePod Any way to ask HomePod is connected to the internet?

I have a home pod thats acting up.

Is there any secret way to ask it if its connected the internet?

I have tried and you would think the apple engineers would have a way to ask a home pod if everything was working OK.
 
The accessory settings within the Home app should show you what WiFi network Homepod is connected to, but a quick and simple test is just to ask Homepod the time or for a news report. If it works you have internet .
