Is it possible to charge an iPhone 7, using a battery case, while talking on the phone using the lightning headset? Or... Charging an iPhone, using a battery case that has an old style headphone jack, while talking on the phone with the old style headset?
So because a lot of others on this topic seem to not really want to answer your question, here:

You will have to use a dongle, to support charging and wireless headphones.

To use lightning headphones you could use this:

To use standard 3.5mm headphones you could use:
Apple's dock: https://www.apple.com/shop/product/ML8H2AM/A
Or piggyback the lightning to 3.5mm off the Belkin one from above.

Hope this helps!

Yes, lets act like it's the end of the world all over again and that there is no options than to get an old iPhone or a different phone.
Many many solutions and options where given and shot down.
Good luck, you'll go through the same emotions when the next iPhone is out.
Oh no the BT headphones battery might die, oh no I can't charge the phone battery might die and won't be able to talk on the phone while using wired microphoned speakers.
I can't chew gum, run a marathon, get a hair cut,eat a bowl of soup all while cutting my grass. What a tragedy not to a solution for that problem either:D

Oh but guess what? You could also use continuity and take your phone calls on the computer or any other iOS device by using your lovely wired headphones. And skip all this nonsense. But I suppose that is not an option for you either and you'll shout that down and come up with a crazy excuse why this too won't work for YOU and nothing is available for your situation. You're not actually looking for a solution to the "problem" most can see what you're doing instead.
In short the iPhone 7 or any newer iPhone is not for you.
Get something else.

Set up iPhone Cellular Calls
Use iPhone Cellular Calls with any Mac, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch that meets the Continuity system requirements. It works when your devices are near each other and set up as follows:

  • Each device is signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID.
  • Each device is signed in to FaceTime with the same Apple ID.
  • Each device has Wi-Fi turned on.
  • Each device is connected to the same network using Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
  • On iPhone, go to Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices, then turn on Allow Calls on Other Devices.
  • On iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > FaceTime, then turn on Calls from iPhone.
  • On Mac, open the FaceTime app, then choose FaceTime > Preferences. Click Settings, then select Calls From iPhone.
If your carrier supports Wi-Fi calling on other devices, you can set up those devices to make and receive calls even when your iPhone isn't turned on or nearby. Learn about Wi-Fi calling.

+1 for AirPods. I know you say you aren't interested in Bluetooth, but I'd highly recommend trying them out.

I use AirPods very frequently. And during the work week I end up on a lot of phone calls. Half of the time I don't even have any AirPods in my ears, but as soon as I hear the phone ringing, I can put an AirPod in and use it to answer within a few rings. Such a freeing feeling being able to make/receive calls and really not worry about any wires. Especially if the phone is sitting tethered/charging.

This may come as a surprise said:
you[/I]. Most people, such as myself, do not waste their valuable time researching products until they actually need the product. And that's what this is; research. Responsible people find out before they waste a considerable money on something that could potentially have an adverse effect on their ability to perform their *job*. ...Not listen to music. Not tweet. Not play games. Do work... Secondly, while the problem is "well known", the answer clearly is not! Otherwise, it would have been well known by everyone here, that the FUZE battery case for iPhone 7 with a 3.5mm headphone jack currently does not support phone calls... Surprise surprise, *nobody* here knew that. [not even you.] Now since *I* did the research, the next person who comes along in need of an answer will hopefully find this, and save their valuable time. Not only that, but now, all the members following this thread know it too and can help others with this information next time they encounter the subject... Even you... [see how that works?] And lastly, as you so astutely pointed out, the problem has "been well known for many months". Which means companies have had time to hopefully develope a solution! And the fact that FUZE confirmed one is in the works only lends credence to my thinking that, in time, there will be a solution... Unfortunately just not yet.

So next time, rather than denigrating someone with a real concerns trying to solve a real problem, just keep to yourself and let the adults do the talking. Besides I'm sure there's an "Android is better than iPhone" thread somewhere that you can troll.

P.S. Maybe it's time to lay off the juice.

Let's all try to remember the "Wheaton Rule"
