Or do i need to completely reinstall? 10.5.5 has completely killed my imac's ability to stay on the network. every night i am booted off and if i play wow it kicks me off as well and just keeps saying it cannot get an IP address. worse still i cannot reconnect the imac to the network unless i leave the modem/router/imac off until the following morning. im not interested in workarounds, i just want to go back to 10.5.4 and see if that works. ive spent days on this and im tired of the BS.

its very hard to do. youll have to find out exactly which files where replaced by Apple's 10.5.5 update and then replace them from 10.5.4 backup.

the easiest way would be to reinstall and then update to 10.5.4 or downgrade from a Time Machine backup using Restore on the install DVD.

heres a guide on the common stuff to backup restore.
