Any way to use HP LaserJet 1020 with OS 9?

It is necessary to print on a HP LaserJet 1020 printer from a G3 iMac running OS 9, but it seems, even OS X driver works very poorly. Is there any way to print on this printer from OS 9, or is the only option is to install OS X on this old Mac?

You can always print to PostScript or PDF and then print the PDF from MacOS X.

Umm, I dont quite understand you.

There's no Mac OS X machine there, only a G3 iMac, HP printer and some cr@p very old PCs. Their current scheme of printing from that iMac is writing files to a floppy, then print from PC. 🙄
