After installing the Airport update Time Machine is creating a .sparsebundle and mounting a diskimage in order to perform backups via the Airdisk. Unfortunately, it is ignoring the previous backup folder on the external drive that was created via a USB connection.

Is there any way to get Time Machine to see the older backups? I seem to recall a workaround for this issue but I can't seem to find it. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My workaround for this is to opt-click in the TM icon in the menu bar which gives you the oppotunity to browse other TM disk, I'm using this via Airdisk:
