its a simple blue ray would cost money for apple and drm is needed and drm leaves a big security hole even if microsoft says it doesn't , but microsoft said they had secure operating system with windows Me and vista too.. i certainly dont like the idea of everybody who likes to see what i play on my iMac or any Mac for that matter so every company knows my personal details from address up to my credit card details if i play a blue ray disc , because the disc and player have to phone home to make sure its legally obtained

and why would i want to watch 3d movies on the iMac , i'd buy a tv for that if i would find a reason for sitting in the living room with silly colored glasses and the majority does not buy iMac's to replace their telly , there are still a couple who really work on their Mac's , and a 3d display would be really useful for office dokuments and photoediting
