So I wanted to check out the cloud gaming services as an alternative to maintaining a Bootcamp partition. I have a symmetrical fibre gigabit connection and an ultra-fast prosumer router, so my connection should be fine. So far, everything seems kind of... garbage. My location: Europe.

- Geforce Now: cannot maintain stable connection, runs perfect for 5 minutes, then stutters and lags for next 5 minutes. Absolutely useless. I only tried it with the free account, but the experience convinced me NOT to pay for a founders one

- Stadia: not available in my region

- Shadow PC: order now for 15 euros per month, we will deliver June 2021. Is this supposed to be some sort of a joke? Well, at least they are honest I suppose...

On Geforce Now, maybe you are having issues because it's the free account.

You might pay for a month of service and see what it is like ?

You think so? I thought that the free users have lower priority for starting a VM, but not for the connectivity itself?

I have the geforce now not free account EU region, its not playble for me on 50mb optical connection. And even if i am lucky and have only yellow connection, the stream is so pixelated like if i iam playing minecraft...

Shame that stadia isn't available where you live. It's apparently excellent and a great alternative to a console for casual gamers and those who mainly play single player.

Except of course that Stadia requires you to buy games specifically for the platform. You are entirely at Google’s mercy here. If they decide that running these cloud servers is no longer profitable, all your games are gone.

Yeah. Google are notorious for plugging the plug on projects. However if they did so for stadia, I hope that they refund purchases.

Is your computer connected to your router via cable or wifi?

In the latter case, this might actually be a problem on your side, not Nvidia's: macOS's location services make a wifi sweep every few minutes, which absolutely wreaks havoc on the connection to such streaming services. I had the same problem with GeForce Now and PS4 Remote Play.

Either try with a cable connection, or turn off the location services in the System Preferences (at least while using the service).

@Janichsan thanks for this hint, that really might be the problem! I have tried different things over the weekend and indeed, using the cable as well as selecting the GFNow server manually dramatically improves the experience. It actually works reasonably well now.
