Totally forgot it about it from last year, just got it today for $251, exactly what I paid 5 years ago. It just helped pay for my 6+, love Apple ❤️#

Remind me, what was the law suit for? I had the 3GS but don't remember this.

What's the implication of this? Weren't they still checking for liquid damage in iPhone 4 and on?

But, wow, $251 is a lot for a class action lawsuit where plaintiffs usually get a few dollars whereas lawyers get millions.

Yeah there was a problem with false positives of water damage indicators and Apple refusing to service it and 3M knowledged the problem and did a recall, Apple still didn't care so they got sued. And I know that's a lot, I remember reading last year it was suppose like $55 only.

I got the email to opt into the lawsuit last year or the year before but I decided against it. Im not a big fan of being part of suing a company that tries to do so much for their customers.

I just received a check as well but I never agreed or signed up for it at all. I do vaguely remember getting a letter but I threw it out. I get so much junk mail I just assumed that it was garbage. So I'm guess it's a legit check?

What? Apple are in business to make a profit out of their customers. I must have missed the memo about them being a charity...

I got 2 checks today..1 for 251.xx and the other for $122.xx..the deadline to submit a claim for the settlement was October 2013.. It wasn't just the iPhone 3g it was iPhone and iPod various models etc that had warranty extended due to water damage sticker.

Conveniently Apple mailed the checks in time for consumers to buy their new iPhones :)

I wonder if I'll get anything, then. My 3G was denied service way back when for the reason listed in the article. Here's to hoping!
