Yeah I got rid of the beta profile as soon as the gm was installed, and it’s been over 24h now. It wasn’t that bad yesterday, I only started to notice this morning after waking up :/ and then topped it off again and put it on at around 8:15 and by 18:13 it gave the low power alert. I’ll wipe it if it’s still bad tomorrow and let you know
The problem is annoying and one that i have experienced a few times over the years. I have started leaving my watch on the charger longer after an update. It seems to help anecdotally speaking.

Yea, that is not typical. You could have had a lot of background processes going on that contributed to the battery issue. If it is still acting up in 24hrs, wipe and install the OS as new.

Edited to add: Get off the beta. That will help.
I did it as soon as I’ve installed the GM.

I’ll try deactivating the hand washing timer see if that helps, I doubt it though as I have sound alerts on as well so it’s not like the mic will be off

OK so I recharged it and used it for a bit and the drain was still there, Im currently in the process of unpairing and setting it up as new, hopefully that does the trick

I’m on the same boat. It seems better than yesterday, but not as good as it was before WatchOS 7. I’ll wait until next Saturday to decide if I’ll restore my phone. And I still can’t unlock my Mac with the watch as well.

I'm on 84% at 14:35 on a Series 5. Using it how I normally would with the same apps, usually I would be on roughly 70-75% by now. Based on this, so far I think the battery seems to be performing better.

WatchOS7 is certainly snappier than OS6 as well 👍

First run today with watchOS 7. Terrible battery drain. Was running for one hour and battery drained from 78% to 22%. Had cellular enabled and was listening to a podcast via BT, not streaming.
With watchOS 6 same took about 20% per hour.

Confirmed for me too. Charged until 11:30pm. Slept with watch on. At 7:30am, was at 85%. Doing nothing today other than wearing it, I’m now at 43% at 1pm and will not make it through workout at 4pm. I never had to charge my watch during the day with os6. This is disappointing, and hopefully we figure it out.

Series 5. Battery health at 97%. Cellular model.

I unpaired and set up as new last night and there’s a night and day difference, I’ve been wearing it since 6:30 today and it’s currently 14:03 and it’s at 74% so you might want to give that at try it worked brilliantly on my S5 cellular model

When you do that does the carrier have to be setup again or does it remember?

Anybody else notice worse battery life on watchOS 7 GM vs watchOS 6?

Dunno yet but watchOS 6 has diminished my battery life substantially compared to watchOS 5 (on Series 4).

Yes, the drain is significant before you restart your watch. When I updated the usage and standby times were the same. Once I restarted battery drain went back to normal.

I’m going to set up my S3 as new tonight and see if it’ll help with the battery drain. Mine is now dead from 45% when I took it off at work because it wouldn’t connect to my phone.

Yup. Hoping it’s just the watch indexing and needing time to settle down in the new update.

It’s the only thing that worked on mine, I tried everything yesterday. As a bonus the hand washing timer and raise to speak is also working way better.
