...I can maybe give it to a grieving friend. He just won't shut-up about having an outdated UMB.

I know you were joking, but that's pretty sad.

What's even sadder is I don't doubt that many people here actually do love their Apple hardware more than their own family members.

Tell your friend his computer is obsolete and Apple wont be supporting it with any further software updates. Also tell him only the new "Pro" line will run Snow Leopard. Oh, and that Apple has triggered the built-in MHz kill switch that will make his computer run at about 25-30% of the speed it ran before Monday at 1PM.

Tell him his computer is just rarer now. And, at least he has a microphone jack - that annoyed me the most out of everything on my old iBook. I've got the same one. Instead of whining, I'm looking at the face that I never use SD because I just have an iPhone and a point-and-shoot so I plug them in via USB, and I already begrudgingly gave up firewire and I don't want it back.

I LOL'd at grieving over an outdated family member.. (Im probably the only one that thinks thats funny..)

Do you even need the sticker though? He can still pretty much call it a MBP.. In the keynote they said they were pretty much the same machine (I KEEP TELLING MYSELF THAT)
 
Even when I had a MacBook Pro, I never referred to it around others as my "MacBook Pro."

Co-worker: "Do you have that file?"

Me; "Yeah, it's on my Mac Book Pro."

That always sounded so stupid... so I just would say "macbook."

The "Pro" part doesn't mean anything anyway, especially now that the low-end 15" MacBook PRO doesn't have dedicated graphics, either.
 
I love it. All the people who were bragging about their unibodies back in october/november are going nuts. Specifically those going into denial by calling their macbooks collectors editions. 🙄😛

Why? We will have the only unibody MacBooks made. Plus, they are they same machine minus a few speed bumps, an SD slot, and a FW800. I don't need any of those and mine is still a pretty damn good machine.

At least mine has digital audio input.

That was directed to you because: 1) You're not bitching. (complete opposite actually) 2) You don't have collectors edition written in your sig.😀
