If this is going to be the case I am not very happy. I was not aware my bill would go up this significantly when they preached bill staying the same. I get it, tax but a 330% increase seems a little overboard to me. Plus they upped their admin fee once again! I would have stayed on my 4G plan for one more year, their 5G sucks! Anybody else get a $50 increase in their bill? EC3A600F-EF32-4E73-A457-56E79EF65106.jpeg

You'll also discover that their 5G is slower than their 4G
my daughter has the 12 and we tested all the time and i am getting 5mb-30mb. its terrible, i never would have upgraded if i was told my bill would be increasing by $50. i got rid of my installment plan charge of $50 a month this year to bring my bill down and then this brings it right back up....ughhhh

I saw that. It has to be some computer generated statement that's probably supposed to help lol. It doesn't look correct to me either. Wait for the first real bill.
THat admin fee goes straight to them too.. it was $99 years ago, was $1.99 last year. now $6 WTF!!

Do you have 3 lines? It's still $1.99/line but on that thing they sent they condense all the taxes and fees per line to a single entry for all at the bottom.

Hmm, 2 and a watch. But that still doesn’t take away the fact that my last plan I only got $13 in total taxes. Now $47?!?!

this is why I switched to T-Mo. It's cheaper for me for 8 lines on T-Mo than what you pay. and the service is a lot better too

Don't panic yet. I think the consensus on the Reddit AT&T group is that "bill" is some sort of an estimate which they generate that is always wildly off. That said, I tried AT&T for one month this year because they have the best reception at my house. All of the unadvertised fees (not taxes) were obscene.

Yep. I tried AT&T for 1 month. Got charged Activation fees (which I got them to waive) and all sorts of other fees that weren't fully disclosed when I signed on. For the same service level Unlimited Postpaid x 2 lines + 1 Apple Watch my AT&T bill was >$230/month*. For the same thing from T-Mo it is Exactly $160/month. AT&T was better at my home, but not $70/month better.

*Icing on the cake was I have an employer discount, which they told me AFTER the sale doesn't apply till 3 months in, and is not applied retroactively to the first 3 months. Never again.

BTW I also had tested Visible (Verizon MVNO) previous to using AT&T. Again, at my house service was similar to T-Mo. Usable but no more than ~25mbps download. Around town T-Mo and Visible were fantastic. The visible was $25/line all in (all taxes/fees included) for unlimited everything. Only caveat? They don't do Apple Watch yet.

If that is the CSR or something like that, that they send, don't panic.
Wait for your actual bill, it should be much lower.

Yea those summaries are so worthless. You would think they would fix them by now since all they do is drive unnecessary calls and chats

well I sure hope they are over estimating then cause I will be pissed.

Their admin fee pisses me off the most. It goes straight to them. Doubled it years ago. Made MILLIONS..

Right! I paid my phone in full this year so I wouldn’t have the $50 installment plan every month only to come find out that it’s back at the same price even without an installment plan..

what 50 increase? I see a $30 activation fee. the other columns are identical

Oh that’s not comparing my old plan to new one. That was showing me the new bill compared to next one after that. (Without $30 fee) my old plan was $13 in taxes and fees. This one is like $50.

I called as soon as I saw that... Was told "It's not your "real" bill." Okay, then why did you send it? "it's automatically generated... When your "real" bill comes it'll be less..." Uh Huh...

Coachingguy
Why would they send us over estimated bills so they have widespread calls come in and bog down the call centers.. freaking stupid!

Yes, for 3 lines I was quoted a price $14 less than the shared plan I had. Of course I switched. Then I got the email with outrageous prices. I called and was told it would be correct once my discounts were applied. Well it did go down some after the discounts, but the fees are still too high. My husband thinks it’s their way of recouping the $700 in credits.

I haven’t received a real bill yet, only emails with links to preview charges. I surely hope the fees are lower on the real bill.
