anybody know how to get this effect in final cut pro?

    there was a fade to black at around 6.15, is that what you mean?

    if it is then, yes it is possible to create a fade to black in FCP

    it was 6:15 on my macbook. watch a little more and you'll see it

    You mean the 'starring' on the highlights? If so that's just a filter FCP 6 comes with. Go Video Effects->Glow->Dazzle.

    thank you! i have seen that in a lot of films and i have always wanted to know how to use it.

    Typically when you see it in films or on TV it's an 'in camera' effect meaning they used a star filter on the camera to get the highlights to react that way.
