When I want to save a web page as a PDF, I can access the "Print...Save as PDF" menu, and I actually see a progress box that says, "Printing Page 1...", etc. But nothing at all appears on my desktop. (I specifically navigate to save to the desktop so that I can see the results right away.)

Anyone have any idea what's going wrong?

Can you print to PDF from other apps? It could be a problem with the installed printer driver.

Is there a chance that it is "printing" to a default temp folder? You may have already checked that, but sometimes I lose files that are actually somewhere else.

Good luck.

Yeah, I can print PDFs from Safari, Word, etc., just not from Camino. And I've done searches for "(name of file)", "created today", both with and without the .pdf extension in the title. No luck. It's puzzling.

Which Camino version are you using? Have you tried trashing your prefs file and resetting it?
