Anybody moved from NAS to DAS?

Hi, anybody used a NAS but ended up moving to the DAS route?

To me a smart NAS is long term stooges a DAS is for storing videos/music folders nd even pictures one has work onto!

Having recently moved from DAS to NAS, I find that 1 Gig Ethernet is very slow, and WiFi is even worse. NAS is a lot better if you’re able to use 2.5 or 10g Ethernet.

Of course, if backup is your only purpose, it doesn’t matter that much, but if you’re editing photos or videos, it’s slow.
