after seeing before launch that there was a backlight issue, I have been looking at my phone and though it was just when I was texting and having the text window scrolled up. But low and behold there is an ever so light grey bar all along the top edge of the screen...yeah yeah yeah I know it's nothing major, but with them having had backlight issues I'm worried my phone could just take a crap on me..should I take it into AT&T and see what they do/say?

If it's the same gray bar issue on my 6S it's probably not an indication your device is going to fail or get worse. Mine is slight too and is more or less lined up with the bottom of the mute switch. Not exchanging or returning mine its not bad enough to risk getting something worse and this kind of issue is unfortunately still par for the course with apples lcd suppliers.

Well I'm just debating because I apparently can't get AppleCare on my phone unless I go to an Apple Store but I don't have one within 3 hours of me..

Can't you call Applecare and tell them that you want to purchase applecare plus? It's possible and they will run a quick test remotely first before they let you purchase.

That's incorrect. If you live far from an Apple Store, they can make an exception for you, if you're within the time window. Start a chat or give them a call.

Tell them how far you live. They can make it happen.

I've bought all my Apple Care over the phone, they just run a remote diagnostic first.

They will neither know nor care. (In my experience.)

Totally agree. Don't waste your time with AT&T.

OP, if there is truly something wrong with your iPhone, exchange it for a new one. Otherwise, if you're truly worried about something past the 12-month point, then buy Apple Care if it gives you peace of mind.
