If I were buying again today I would still go with the wired ones because: the price difference is substantial ($50 at Amazon); a number of reports of connectivity issues in Amazon reviews; and the wire does not bother me. If the price were the same, I'd give the truly wireless version a try and return them if I ran into connectivity issues.
Hmmm

I read the frees have better sound quality
I don't mind paying the extra if its worth it

I also have the read the build quality isn't great on the sound-sport wireless

I'm certainly happy with the sound (for comparison, I also have AirPods, Jaybird BlueBuds, Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones & QC20 earbuds, and Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Studio Monitor headphones). No problems with the build quality, either.

Yeah I had the AirPods and returned them

The sound isolation was really poor and I found I could hardly hear my music in urban places
