So, I recently tried and failed to put a SATA 3 Corsair SSD into my SATA 1 Power Mac G5, it's not detected at all.

My Macbook should be here next week, and it turns out that it's also SATA 1. Corsair say that their SATA 3 drives are backward compatible with SATA 1 and 2.

So, anybody know if it'll work? Anybody put a SATA 3 inside their SATA 1 Macbook and had it work?

It should work, to make it 'appear' , what you have to do is go into disk utility (it should appear in here) and Format it to mac os extended.
Hope this helps
