I am. I actually made the jump to the iPhone 4 but ended up returning it because I missed the phone functionality that came standard with the iPhone 3G.

I'm on the 3G. 4.1 fixed most of the lag issues and 4.2 is reportedly even better. I guess class action lawsuits really do work...?
I am still using my 3G. I did upgrade to 4.1 and am disappointed by the lag. I find that my gps is no longer usable. The phone just freezes on any app that accesses the gps chip. I can't determine if the gps chip is just weak in a 3G or If the ios 4.1 is the culpret. I want the iPhone 4 but finances just don't permit at this time. As to apple addressing the lag in the 3G, I don't think it's been improved much. I do like the ios 4.1 features so I just put up with the lag.
My mother in law has my wifes, kept it on 3.xx. Didn't want to risk upgrading the iOS. It's a fine phone still. Does everything she needs. Obviously FaceTime would be great for her and my son but oh well.
i feel no major reason in upgrading cause the 3G gets the job done but at the same time retina display is sugarcoating the iPhone 4, hopefully my upgrade will be within the next 2months or so
