I did my weight analysis by using it daily for what I like to do. Smooth sailing for me, all hail the Air!!

Seriously, the OP had his WIFI turned on. Turn it off and it'll go back to weighing exactly one single pound (16 ounces, to the unwashed).

I think you need to shut down Safari, not WiFi. Those text-heavy pages like the MacRumors forum weigh a lot, especially if you have multiple tabs open. And forget about pictures. Everyone knows a picture weighs a thousand words.

First thing I do when I get new device is weigh it on my 0.001g increment scales and then proceed to check all the dimensions with my digital callipers down to the micron.

If these measurements are not within 0.01% of what apple says then Im right down to that apple store to give them a pice of my mind!

...really? Nitpicking at the weight? I really don't understand these threads. Light leak testing, weighing, dust pick up...I mean paying for an expensive device I understand to give it a once over but geez. I buy it, look it over, protect it and go on with my life.

Same.

Have you loaded lots of movies or tv shows? Are they Comedies or SitComs? or Are they Dramas or Documentaries? As everyone knows Dramas and Documentaries are heavier than Comedies or SitComs. :D

And apparently "going on with your life" means getting involved in others?

The guy didnt make a malicious thread, he simply stated a question based on his own research. So if you're going to play the "I dont understand these threads" card then you can't be a hypocrite and pretend that you are above the idea of nitpicking when you are clearly far below it.

Would you like to pick another card I can play since that didn't seem to suit you? I like how you call it "research". This isn't a science project, it's a freakin iPad! But hey thanks for calling me out on being above things when your tone states the same.

The "1 pound" figure was rounded down for marketing purposes. In reality it weighs slightly more than this.

If you check the Apple site, the weight is quoted as "469g (1 pound)" when in reality, 469g is 1.03397 lbs. The cellular model is quoted as "478g (1.05 pounds)" when it's actually 1.05381 lbs.

Basically they're taking liberties with the "1 pound" quote and I'm sure Samsung or another of their competitors will have a go at them about it sometime soon.

I will weigh my Air LTE 128gb tonight. Should I weight it with the battery full or closer to empty?

Maybe we all could weigh our devices and report back!

Did I miss anything? ;)

Nope, that's pretty accurate for the most part. Lol

My scale shows ~1.05 for wifi. A little bit more than spec. Wonder what the manufacturing tolerances are? Could be my scale.
Did you restore from an iCloud backup? Also, check your "Other", that might be adding to the weight as well.

Sounds like it's time for a fresh install.

Apple has really gone downhill. This never would have happened if Steve Jobs...

Mine weighs only 455 grams  I just got it though and only have a few apps installed, maybe the specs show the weight when it's full?
Actually, if you're iPad's storage is mostly in mint condition (i.e., all bits set to zeros) it will weigh slightly less than filled with data (since that means about half of the bits are set to one). On a 128 GB device this should make quite a difference, although probably less than 15 grams. I would suggest fully charging the battery if you want to reach the maximum possible weight.

I upgraded my 64GB Air to 64GB tmobile LTE and it's noticeably heavier. I didn't weigh the Wifi, but my LTE comes in at 483grams which is 5 grams over spec.

The edges aren't as sharp on the LTE as they were on the wifi so my guess is that there's slight variations in glass thickness which affect both weight and fit.
