Anyone a bit disappointed by the number of unoptimised apps for the iPad?

Skype is an anomaly, a pathetic anomaly...

Their iPad optmized app is coming, but they have been ridiculously slow to get with the program. Don't judge the App Store selection by Skype alone, there are tons of proper iPad apps, and loads of interesting new iPad apps arrive every day.

He's not saying there is a lack of iPad apps. He's saying that a lot of the ones he bought on the iPhone either do not have iPad version or, if they do, he has to buy it again for even more money. I had a similar experience when I got my iPad, very few of my paid apps were universal so I had to rebuy quite a bit.. especially games.

I guess I'm just kinda surprised, really, more than anything. Like people kept going on about the iPad and its pretty damn cool but that adds to the disappointment. Anyway, I gave it to my dad yesterday, I think he quite likes it. The lack of Flash is a bit annoying for him but he's definitely going to try the iPad out vigorously before he shuns it for an android tablet. To be honest its win-win for me anyway. If he doesn't like it, I have the iPad - if he does, I'm even happier.

It's too bad Apple doesn't use his scaling instead of their inadequate 2x "solution".

The @2X solution is actually the best solution provided developers use it. No scaling at all. Assets that are twice the resolution are loaded on run time.
