Has anyone been able to convince an AT&T rep to move up their new 2-year contract date to get the 4S at the fully subsidized price? If so, how far did they move your date? Mine is Nov 18th, and my first rep denied me.
 
I am not sure but AT&T has tightened up on this and a rep does not have the "privileges" that they used to have.

They might not be able to do you early, even if they wanted.

i've been told multiple times they can over ride the date within the same month, so you should be good to go NOV 1st

my date mysteriously changed from nov 30 to feb 28 and i'm having NO luck whatsoever :(
 
tried multiple times and had no luck. Not as easy as last year. I threatened to leave and they didn't bite. Didn't even get a credit or anything. Not a big deal, kind of glad because I'm not really interested in the iphone 4s anymore =T

Would you be interested again if AT&T called you and said you could upgrade? :D
 
I got my iphone last year in august

Theres 2 iphones in my account ,bill comes to around $140 a month

It says im eligible for an upgrade on January of 2012

If they had let me upgrade to the iphone 4s now i would have bought it

But they didn't so in going to wait till my contract is up and switch to verizon
 
My contract was up for a few months but my wife's upgrade is in feb, when I called in to upgrade for the 4s they also allowed me to upgrade my wife's line also. We both are using the 4s now.
 
Wouldn't let me upgrade either. I have decided to just pay the extra $250.00 to get on the new release cycle and will use my wife's upgrade next summer to get the iPhone5 when it comes out. As is, I am buying my first iPhone tonight as I have a 64GB iP4S on reserve at my local store to pick up today.

Can't wait!!

The only way I made any progress was calling almost 7 days straight. Told them (manager) that my home button is messed up(true). They let me 'pre-order.' Still no phone. Upgrade date is 11/28, store will do it on 11/1 (if AT&T lets me cancel). Order date 10/8+21 days=10/29. Wow 2 days early. Some pre-order. Hopefully mine will come sooner.
 
for the people saying they can get it moved to the first of the month, is this Apple doing this, or AT&T?

Find it really hard to believe if anybody was able to do so, especially with them having record sales without a big population of us left waiting.

In the store or by phone? A phone order is meaningless as you probably won't get your phone before November even if you order today.

Now, if you got it done in a store, that means something since you now have a phone.

I was able to move my upgrade from 11/25 to now also. Guess what I have? NOTHING. Just a fake pre-order.

I got mines from my local AT&T Corporate Store today. Had it reserved for me and put on hold by corporate offices.
 
Called them up, first rep denied me. Second time I called the rep moved it up from November 25th to the 1st of November. I asked why others were able to upgrade annually, and the rep explained that if the customer payed on time without any problems they would be eligible. I asked to speak to a manager and explained to him that I've always payed on time and have no problems with ATT. He allowed me to push up my upgrade to the 14th of October :cool:

But, did they order the phone from them or can you of to a store? Because they did the same for me and I still have NO phone. If you ordered today, you may still not see it until November as Apple replenishes their stock FIRST.

Went to apple store, didn't have to do it over the phone. I'm a pretty convincing individual if I want to be. Got it on the 15th of October.

Congrats. Good job. No such luck for me. They gave me credits ($221), but still no phone. Now they say they cancel the order because its 'in progress.' BS
 
I'm surprised to hear all of this... I simply called AT&T and was actually offered a $250 credit to my account to offset the additional $250 upgrade fee. So I paid the $650 for the 64GB iPhone, but at the same time I now have a -$250 balance with AT&T and don't need to pay my next couple of phone bills. Works for me!

It took me a week of calling to get $151. Another week for $69. $221 total. A pre-order is in place for $299, but no tracking info, so who knows when its coming.
 
I didn't complain, I didn't yell, didn't get upset, etc... Not sure if that had anything to do with the way I was treated. Heck, the lady I talked to even called the apple store and AT&T store by me to check availability of the iPhone 4S. I couldn't have been happier with my their customer service. I'm not sure if it matters that I've been a long time customer of theirs (almost 10 years, and always I'm good standing).
 
for my second line, upgrade is in april 2012, if i order through at&t on the phone, they will upgrade me now =]
