Well the update is out. Anyone already got around to it? Although it doesn't look like it specifically refers to it, I am curious to learn if battery life sees any improvement.

I am just goonna wait just in case JB is ready..

In the process of updating now. Have been reading around the net that users are experiencing a noticeable change in battery life already. Guess we will see.

I'm curious to see if it actually fixes batt life myself. Or maybe I'm just using the iPad 2 more cause this time I got 3G. :). I'll throw it on when I get home.

Updated my iPad 1 about an hour ago... Just browsing this forum ever since and it just dropped from 100% to 99%. It seems like it has improved to me.

My iPad 2's battery life has improved significantly.

I hope mine does. I have my brightness at about 60-65% (a little higher then a lot of people on here) and just using internet on WiFi I loose 1% battery life every few minutes. I think it should be better then that.

Much better battery life. 15 minutes on the Internet battery has dropped 1%. before updating to 4.3.1 it would have dropped close to 6-8% in the same time.

iOS 4.3.1 seems to work quite well, but is it really necessary to download 607 megabytes of code just to do an incremental upgrade?

Updated my iPad 1 to iOS 4.3.1 earlier today.

Haven't noticed any differences. Everything is fine. :)

I haven't gone through a complete charge/discharge cycle with iOS 4.3.1, but It definitely seems like the the discharge rate is slower. Before, it seemed like I wasn't getting the same battery life as I was on the iPad 1.

I'm gonna wait to update also just in case something is wrong

Actually, 4.3.1 is likely the build version that they would have liked to ship on the iPad originally had they had enough time to sort out bugs and get the software into production and onto all of the devices that they delivered on 3/11. I don't think this is one to wait on as they have likely optimized things for the better. (Can't speak for any of the JB issues and the notion of holding off).

I updated my unlocked iPhone 4 (UK version), and iPad 2 about 7 hours ago. Aside from the lengthy download, it went smoothly.

haven't had time to update yet, working 3rd shift tonight, but sounds like good news on the battery life. Any word on how the font looks in portrait mode, as some (including me) feel the font on text looks a bit more grainy on the ipad2 as compared to the ipad1 screen...(maybe the "contrast" is preset to high with the brightness mix on the ipad2). just curious jw
