Unplugging 1 extra wire hardly compromises the mobility. I dock my MBA to an external monitor on my desk and pick it up to bring it downstairs or in bedroom all the time.
You're making up an issue out of nothing basically.

You're making up an issue out of nothing basically.
I completely agree. I keep my 11 hooked up to my monitor, speakers and Bluetooth mouse and keyboard while Im home, and it only takes a second or two to unplug it (two wires in total) when I move to another room or when I leave the house. Its a setup I really like, as when Im home I have a larger screen to work with, but then I also always have my main computer with me when Im out.
Or you could visit your local ikea and pick up their fantastik napkin holder for $2. I've been using it for a month now and a great laptop stand. Works for iPad too!
