The last week or so I have been having a pretty hard time getting into this site......this morning was particularly bad and after waiting for ages it came up with the attached error.
Is it something with my computer or have others had difficulties too?

hmm.

That's weird.

Is this visiting forums.macrumors.com main url, a thread url or both? A specific url might help narrow it down.

Anything unusual about your configuration?

This is an error from a "Worker" script. But to give you an idea of how rare these errors are, in the past 24 hours, we had 12 million worker requests and 20 of them are reporting an error.

Hi, thanks for replying - I am late because I just can’t get to the site now from my iMac
It just hangs, sometimes gives me the cloud flare error after many minutes or a blank screen
Now logged on through my iPad and it’s fine!
I tried a different browser (Brave), deleted history, deleted caches..... and still won’t connect.
I was trying to access the main site, no specific thread
There’s nothing odd about my configuration and not having issues with any other sites. It’s an iMac 27”, 2017 model, have a Synology server connected. Running Big Sur latest update..... really odd!
Nobody else reported a problem so must be something in the computer!

@Geoff777 Yes been having exactly the same issue for 2 days now can only get around it via vpn on both mobile or laptop, I have just managed now to post this :)

You cant report the problem if you cant logon :)

I tried 3 different laptops and 2 phones wifi and cellular connections to rule out router issues

@arn Maybe you can have a look but I would almost say its a regional thing I have had both the 1101 and 520 error

Only works consistently via vpn? Can you message me what country you are visiting from?

Which DNS are you using? Try changing and see if that resolves the issue. @arn, is there a way to narrow down the causes for those 20 errors that you see? Maybe they are all from a certain country, or certain DNS. You may then take it up with CloudFlare if you would like to.

I’m looking into it.

If someone can send me their IP address when they see the problem,

thanks

still looking into it.

Any other IPs might help from others. Send me a private message if you can reproduce it on a particular ip.

Was working ok off peak US hours but back to errors again now with a different msg at times:

This site can’t be reached

The webpage at might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

ERR_FAILED

It seems there’s a routing issue between some of cloudflare’s servers and ours. We have a ticket open.

Facing similar issue too. I've to connect using VPN in order to access this site. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. For example, I was able to access it now but 2 hours ago I wasn't. There was no change in my networking setup between now and then. My IP is still the same.

Yep same here and I would guess the OP can't get back on to post his feedback if he does not use vpn trick

Brief update. Cloudflare confirmed the issue. They are looking into it.

Yaaay! Managed to get on first time today for a bit (from the Mac).
@SteveJUAE that's a coincidence I'm currently in Malaysia too..... maybe something to do with Telekom Malaysia??? Oh, and I'm not using a VPN.

Yep you can get on when US is sleeping, but later on only works with VPN, just tried

My wifi/internet is Time but cellular is Celcom, so would have to be at some major hub
