Anyone being charged (or not) the Verizon upgrade fee when purchased through Apple? I purchased the phone through Verizon.com and they added on the upgrade fee to the purchase price. I never made the effort to call and ask for credits. My wife purchased her X through Apple.com, and they did not add on the upgrade fee to the purchase price. When she picked-up the phone from Apple, she had to sign-on the associate's device an acknowledgement that Verizon will charge her the upgrade fee once activated. She sucked it up, however, now that she received her latest bill, she has not yet been charged this fee. Anyone else have the same luck?

I purchased mine through Apple. Although it’s an AT&T model, I have yet to be charged any upgrade fee.

I even got a bill already and it was the same as usual.

If you pay in full there should be no upgrade charge. If you go on the payment plan they charge you $30. I personally don’t understand the charge either way because no matter how you choose to pay, your still paying full price for the phone.

I have ordered 8 Plus back in September as an iUP Upgrade and iPhone X for pick up (asked me to enter my carrier info at the time since it was on 11/4/17). On both occasion, I looked at my bill including recent one and was not charged the activation fee at all. YMMV

if you get the phone thru Carrier installments then you are charged upgrade fee!

Verizon didn't have it for a while/they always waived it. When I got my 6S Plus early last year and asked why I am being charged an activation fee now they had this to say "Everyone else charges it". What a great reason that is

I’m aware that for the carrier installments that you can be charged for the upgrade fee. What about those that sign up for iUP? It even says on the website you would be charged the fee when you sign up but I haven’t been charged. It’s been past two month already.

you are not charged activation fee when you sign up with IUP. IUP has nothing to do with the carrier end. Apple just wants to know that you have a postpaid account with 4 of the big carriers in the country!
