Just checked and I'm not eligible for cheap upgrade until 9/21. Am on AT&T and considering going with the Next plan as I think by 9/21 it will be back ordered. Anyone else in a similar boat?

Yep, mine too is set for 9/21. I would guess at that point it would be weeks to months of back order. How did the previous poster get their date moved up?

AT&T just did it automatically. I checked before the end of August and it was my normal 9/21 or whatever date. Then I checked for my company's lines after Labor Day and noticed that all of their lines were moved up to eligible now (they had been the 21st originally too). So I checked mine again on the Apple website and its good to upgrade now too

Mine is still showing a price of $949.00 today and $749.00 on 9/21. Hopefully AT&T will start bumping up the eligibility dates for others as well soon.

My entire family is 9/14. IF anyone has suggestions, please post. Those 2 days will be a month waiting for the phone.

Dial *639# and see what it tells you. Mine before yesterday told me that I can only upgrade using Next. Now it says I can do subsidized with a $40 fee. My contract though isn't over until 9/14

Verizon just bumped mine. Said I was in good standing, always pay my bill on time and I've been with them since forever (literally 18 years or so)..... so they changed it for me!

You might only be eligible for ATT Next, not the standard upgrade. Can you confirm?

It shows both on Apples eligibility page - 64 gig 6+ is 399 or 42.45 on next.

My eligibility was magically moved up today from 9/21. I am now eligible for a subsidized upgrade.

Mine was originally mid-month as well (I don't remember the precise day, but I got my 5 on launch day), and when I just checked on Apple's site, it said this:

My Verizon Wireless upgrade date had been 9/18 going back for months. Just after the iPhone 6/plus announcement, I checked again and it had been automatically changed to 9/4. :p

For those on AT&T who had their upgrade date moved up, are you also able to get your iPhone unlocked? Selling your old one unlocked is more valuable, and I'm not sure how the unlock process works once you upgrade to the new iPhone. The last time I had the phone unlocked before I upgraded.

I got my 5 on launch day. AT&T site says my contract doesn't expire until Sept 14th, but it also says ...

" Upgrade Eligible

Congratulations! This line is eligible for an AT&T NEXT installment plan upgrade. Or upgrade with a 2-year service agreement and a $40 upgrade fee."

Is there anyone on AT&T who has a contract expiration prior to Sept 12th that doesn't see the $40 upgrade fee? I can't remember for sure, but when I preordered the 5, I think it was a $36 dollar upgrade fee, and I ended up getting it waived via AT&T chat after I ordered the phone from their website and entered into another 2 year contract.

My contract doesn't expire until Sept 14th and AT&T approved my unlock request on the 27th of last month.

I am up for renewal 10/12, and as of now nothing. I don't expect anything either, just looking to get the $40 fee waived when I do upgrade next month., but I am getting constantly pushed on with this ATT Next plan which personally sucks for me.

Mine was saying the 14th also but I checked yesterday and I'm eligible now. I've been told before by AT&T they will do an upgrade as long as you're eligible that month, the date doesn't matter. I'm not sure if that applies for the early upgrade for the people who got the 5s. I got the 5S on my other line and its not showing eligible for the early upgrade.

And when the did the upgrade fee go from 36 to 40. Hopefully they will still waive them.
