Well, my heading just about says it all!

The battery is so weak on my IPT 6G that I'm on the verge of buying an iPhone SE -- not to use as a phone, but as an IPT!

Just wondering if anyone else has done that and how you like the iPhone SE...

You should have posted this in the iPhone forum, it's much more active. Maybe you could ask to get this thread moved.

The only thing is you will pay about $200 more for the SE but if you can afford it why not?

I will replace my IPT 4 G with the iPhone SE, but I need a little money. (Please send.)

I reckon it would be a good choice. Better processor (?), better battery with the additional feature of low power mode. Better camera too.

I haven't. But like you I've been considering doing the same.

The 64 GB iPhone SE is US$499 and the 64 GB iPod Touch is US$299. As already mentioned that's a US$200 price difference. But if you can find an iPhone SE for US$100 off, then it is only a US$100 price difference.

I kind of did..

I had a 5gen iPod touch, and the battery was toast..only lasted about half an hour.
Also had a iPhone 5c which I used mostly as an iPod touch (although I have a data only sim in it) which I broke trying to change the battery.

I was thinking of getting a iPod touch 6th gen to replace them both, but after much consideration I went with a SE.
The reasons were; the better camera, the Touch ID, the faster processor and graphics, the better battery life (I think), and the fact it has Apple Pay. And also the sim slot.

The price difference isn't that great between them* and it seemed an no brainier to get the SE instead.
The SE (coming from a 5C) is phenomenal. I am really impressed with it..very fast, responsive and does everything I need and more. The only downside was the price.. But I think if I get three years use out of it it is not so bad.
I am a big fan of iPod touches, I have 1st 4th and 5th gens, but it is a shame how far behind they lag the other products in the line up. Truth be told, if it had Touch ID I would have probably gotten a sixth gen after it was released.

*ok, so it is a few hundred dollars, it depends on your point of view, my student days are long gone, and it is not a massive amount for me. I don't like wasting my money though..
