Anyone buy the AW SE?

I thought about trading in, but they offered 110€, whereas I had paid 250€ three weeks ago... Hoping to get a better price on ebay...
I'm sure you'll get a better price on eBay. I've never sold anything on eBay and am kinda sorta too lazy to dive in & learn how at this very moment. It's stupid to leave money on the table, so I'm kinda kicking myself after reading your post & thinking about it.

If I decide to give in and get a SS AW next year I'll sell my SE instead of trading in.

just be careful with eBay, as you have to factor in the associated cost with the fees and PayPal. Plus, the market is now completely saturated with used Apple watches, so every day that passes, you’re likely to accrue less off your sale given the ‘word is out’ on the new Apple Watch SE and consumers wanting to upgrade.

I had a series 0 that I upgraded to a series 3, and had planned on keeping the series 3 until Apple stopped offering OS upgrades for it, but I hadn’t counted on the SE, which combined with a trade in of the S3, let me get a brand new AW for about $200. Since I’m coming from an S3, I already don’t have an AOD or ECG, so I won’t miss them.

Coming from the S3, the SE feels like a quantum leap forward. The display alone is a massive change. I really feel like I’m using a wrist-bound computer. The improved sensors and vastly superior watch face options make it feel like a completely different class of device.

I was in the market for buying an Apple watch for the first time... I like wearing traditional watches, including my "hybrid Watch" from Kronaby, so I was always hesitant to wear a "display" on my arm.

However, I hate taking my phone with me for workouts, but need a music player and a rep-timer. So Apple watch seems like a good thing for fitness and end of last month I bought a series 3 gps. Cheapest option, since I would only wear it when working out anyway.

I had heard about rumors that Series 3 would be replaced by a new budget option (supposedly to be called "Apple Watch SE"), but that was rumored to happen in March 2021. Didn't want to wait 6 months, so yeah, bought the Series 3 three weeks ago.

What shall I say: Turns out, wearing an apple watch and closing rings can be kind of addictive, so I haven't taken it off since. Ended up ordering an AW SE Cellular now and will be selling the Series 3 on ebay. The bigger display, faster processor, better speakers and the cellular mode are worth the Upgrade, I guess.

I guess I will make a bit of a loss but hey, you learn from your mistakes... :)
I would keep the series 3 for emergency backup and or use it for sleep tracking.

Yeah you're right, I think people like me who never got an AW are a target audience for the SE. I debated a lot about getting the 6 or the SE, but I've been using Garmin watches for years now and have been fine without the added health features of the 6. I want to try it out longer than the return period because I feel like I really need to use it for a few months to get a sense of if the AW fits in my life and can replace my Garmin. So I felt like the SE was a good compromise of features/price as a first AW.

I ordered the cellular version and one thing I am really looking forward to is leaving my iPhone at home when I go for a run. I always take my phone in case of an emergency, but with the cellular SE I can call, text, and have my family know where I am in case something happens.

Similar situation here and was thinking about going from a Garmin to a SE + LTE until I saw this:

It seems the SE is not as good as the S6. The LTE option is £100 in the S6 while 50£ in the SE...

I was between the S6 GPS and the SE LTE.

I finally decided the later as I do not care much about the additional sensors; maybe the AOD.

Went for a run and loved not having the phone while streaming music to my AirPods Pro.

The battery took a hit of almost 40% in about 1 hour and 10k.

I come from a Garmin that streaming, not LTE but local from the watch, would also consume a lot. But without that it would last about 5 days.

Battery is my main concern but having a LTE is a big plus.

I did. I already have a fingertip pulse oximeter and an AliveCor 6-lead ECG at home so I’m mainly buying the watch for the basic things like time, notifications, weather etc, and AOD doesn’t matter all that much to me. I bought the silver with spruce aura/vapor green Nike band but I kinda pine for the more colorful red or blue of the 6...

I am debating right now. I went from 1 to 3 LTE to a 5 GPS. I miss having LTE when running. I don’t use AOD. The 6 Ti is very appealing but not truly necessary. I always get AppleCare+ in case I damage it, but assume I wouldn’t need AC with Ti.

I ended up using $175 in device dollars to purchase a Nike 6 black aluminum. Cheap enough that I could justify a 7 if and when it comes out. Traded in the 3 and will give my son my 5 to use with his Onewheel.
