According to leaks from Kang the two pro models will have different cameras. I was really looking forward too the 6.1 Pro and got hyped that's it's getting released in October. But Apple really wants you to buy that Pro Max which we have to wait til November 20th

Will you guys be getting the 6.1 pro or wait it out till November for the 6.7?

I don’t think Apple really cares which one you buy. Sure, they make a bit more money on the Max, but they realize it isn’t for everyone. That’s why they offer several different models. Just get the one that best fits your needs and budget.

I’m disappointed that the Mini has different specs. I wish Apple would realize that some people want smaller phones not because they want a cheaper phone, but because that’s just a more comfortable size. I understand they can’t fit a big battery in the phone, but everything else should be easily doable.

Putting all those other features in a phone with a battery that size will eat through it so fast. There’s also the issue of thermals as well. You simply can’t fit all the latest and greatest technology in a tiny phone.

The leaked/rumoured 12 pro camera specs are still an upgrade over the 11 pros and the standard 12s; just seems like the 12 pro max just that bit something extra. Depends on how much you value this stuff; I'd probably upgrade to the 6.1 inch pro myself, and it doesn't bother me personally.

I am waiting for the Pro Max. The camera specs alone are a big part of the reason why I am upgrading from my XS.

Yeah it is as i thought apple were past this but guess samsung do it so makes sense from a business standpoint to charge the biggest amount from the highest specs.

It does sort of suggest that they don’t realise that many in the market may like top specs like the camera but don’t want a huge phone though.

I wonder if they’ve observed the hype for the 12 Mini and realised much of the demand is for size and not necessarily price.

It's a bit presumptuous to tell Apple they don't realize what they're doing.

Don't you think it's more likely Apple, after analyzing successful quarter after successful quarter, strongly believes consumers want a larger phone and top specs? And that iPhone 12 mini is intended to fill the affordable 5G price slot?

Yes, i would prefer the 12 pro coming from a 11 pro and a XR before that, i don't care about a a bigger screen just want the best camera without a surfboard size phone.

It’s a bit presumptuous of you to assume Apple has got it completely right too. They do fall short quite often you know and aren’t completely on point with every decision they make.

If they analyse their last quarter I highly doubt the majority of sales are for the most expensive, biggest iPhone with the best specs. It’s more likely the iPhone 11 has been their best seller due to its price point and decent enough specs.

All manufacturers put the best camera in their large smartphone models. This is true across the entire smartphone industry, whether it's Huawei, Samsung, or Xiaomi. Even Sony, the only recognizable company that tried making compact phones gave up. Sony now follows the industry by having mainstream cameras on their mid-sized phone and best cameras on their biggest phone. Either every smartphone manufacturer failed in their market research, or there probably aren't many people who want a small/mid-size smartphone with a top spec.

iPhone 11 is Apple's best selling smartphone, but it doesn't mean there are many people who want a small or mid-sized phone with the best cameras.

The flagship market is a much smaller segment than the mid tier so it’s impossible to determine whether people want the best camera tech based on what phones any manufacturer sells. If the iPhone 12 Mini sells better than any other iPhone, it’s a bit simplistic to turn around and say ‘well those consumers don’t want the best camera’. That’s just one very specific way of looking at things.

If you offered the 12 Mini at exactly the same price but told the consumer one had the best camera and the other didn’t, I think we know which would get the most takers.

Yes and no, I think I want the 6.1 Pro. If I find that the Cameras on the Pros are THAT much better, I will get the bigger one.

Honestly when I first heard that they would have different specs I was a bit salty but tbh I’m still gonna cop the 6.1 model over the Max. It’s gonna be an amazing phone and the specs aren’t that far off from the Max anyway. Regardless I dig the size more because I’m not a fan of huge phones so I’m cool with it.

I didn’t really read much into the difference of specs between the 12 Pro Max and the other devices. I was already set on upgrading to the 12 Pro Max once rumors started flying that the 12 Pro Max would be 6.7 inches. No matter if it’s a month out from the other devices, I’m still going to wait for it.

What's the difference? They all have A14 chip.
The camera? Well what do you expect? It's smaller thus less space for stuff. There are more important stuff like the battery.
