I was just thinking, a replacement back for the iPhone 4 that was leather instead of glass (basically like these guards) would look pretty snazzy. Throw in a gold-plated band, you could sell these on the luxury market.

The website now claims that it is compatible with the bumper! I edited the original post to show the picture.

Wow this leather skin guard looks awesome, especially in combination with the bumper.

Once my iPhone 4 finally ships and gets to me I wasn't wanting to cover it up with anything, but this has me really tempted...

It's a skin. Sorry i said bumper.. it's just the same 3m di-voc for the sides.
Plus it's cheaper then dinocarbon.com he is selling just the side with no holes for 15 bucks..

For the Carbon Fiber look i went with this guy

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/chanty56/m.h...kw=&_osacat=0&bkBtn=&_trksid=p3911.m270.l1313

He was able to make a bumper/sides upon request. Great looking! and it's 3m-di-noc:D plus he's selling for only 12 pounds..

Now that looks good!

I've actually got a roll of 3M Di-Noc Carbon lying around here, but CBA with the cutting of it.

Do you know how many different pieces the sides are? And whether it goes over the black line on the LHS or stops there and re-starts the other side of it?

I wonder what the white one would look like on a black phone. Black front, white back... sounds good to me. A black or white bumper would finish it off pretty well.

The black screen/white front is what made me switch to a black iPhone this generation.

looks like they dont know how to spell designed....desiened?

also, does anyone know if it has adhesive on it or how it sticks to the phone?

The question is when this skin will be available...none of them are ready to ship now.

You have to realise that any "protection" be it a clear film like Zagg IS or a skin like these SGP skins would provide structural support for the glass back AND reduce the main cause of chipping - which is an object of the same density hitting the glass.

Does it totally stop the chance of breakage - of course not - but the extra layer of support and protection from direct contact with any object the iphone would hit reduces the chances.

I have an IS on my phone back but I am considering going for a leather finish back instead as it looks good!

I really what one of these white ones for my black phone.

I emailed them and they said they should be available by the end of this week or eary next week

Is it thick enough to prevent scratches? I just wanna make sure that this is a quality piece of leather rather than some thin leather sticker.

Not sure what site you have been looking at but I have sold all mine through ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270600262983&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT is one of the listings. My website shop hasn't got them at the moment.
It will certainly prevent scratches, yes. And as Afroman (above) ays, the bumper 'strip' is pre-cut with all the holes in - just need to line it up at the bottom of the phone right up to the dock aperture and continue round past the sim holder - it all lines up.
