I finally took the plunge and upgraded from a watch 5 to the 9. Overall, I'm really pleased with it, so far, but one thing I noticed today after a run was that the screen just wouldn't recognise my sweaty finger, so I couldn't stop the run app. It would work if I pressed the screen but not if I tried to swipe. This was never a problem with the watch 5.

Oh well, maybe the double tap will sort out the problem.

Dry your fingers off first before touching the screen, that’s the most likely reason.

I did try! But I was stuck in a park on the middle of nowhere and covered in sweat! It worked fine when I finally got to a towel. My point is that this was never a problem with the old watch, but yeah, maybe I’ll restart it and see if that helps

I was out kayaking a few weeks ago so my hands were wet and I had trouble using the watch and the phone… if you think that this is a problem after reboot, bring it back to Apple for a replacement

Can use Siri too. Siri pause workout. Been playing with that on my 9 and they were right. Really works great for start, pause, and stop.

There's definitely still bugs in 10.0.1. Give it another update or two....

This.

Seeing same problem with SE (and yes, my fingers are dry). Slow to "wake" when tapping the screen at times.
