Hello all, first congrats to those who got one this morning!

My gf did run into an issue. We both got through quickly using the Apple store app on our phones.

I wanted in store pick up but even getting in as quickly as I did it wasn’t an option for the 10 closest Apple stores in my area. So I passed even though it showed the 3rd as a possible delivery date.

However, my gf got through as well with her phone via Apple store app and it kept giving her a shipping address failure.

I checked her Apple ID and everything seems to match so I’m wondering if it was a server errror ?

I didn’t hear of any wide spread issues as it seemed everyone’s order on MR went down ok.

We both were paying outright so she didn’t need any credit checks of any kind. App just kept saying wrong shipping info.

By the time she used a normal debt card she lost her Nov 3rd date and it slipped to 3 weeks lol.. she doesn’t care though.

Just was a bit confused as to why the address error.

Its not a server error as such. I’ve had that issue. You just need to change the way the address is filled in. There’s a specific format that Apple considers as valid address. Now I have 2 addresses with the same details on my account. No idea why, but it works.

I had the same issue and eventually figured out I needed to re-enter the address in a different format. Did delay my order from 8:03 to 8:09 but still managed to keep a November 3rd store pick up time.

Went from 3rd November to 13-20 because of this, had to select ‘Pay with different card’ and all it did was ask for my 3 digit security number. Wish I just pressed that to start with took about 1 second!

Well these theories are well and good, but doesn’t explain the issue. For some inexplicable reason I couldn’t change my default payment method either on iOS or MacOS days in advanced. Luckily I use the iPhone upgrade program so it didn’t matter. Also three different reps told me that online orders were not available for in store pickup since that’s what I picked. It was reverted to a shipping date only. This is the second time customer service reps from Apple have been shady. First time I had an update issue with my iPhone 7. They put me on hold hung up and never called me back after being passed onto 3 different people.

Hmm so they said the phone wasn’t available for in store pick up? I was a bit shocked when I got through and all 10 stores near me had unavailable for pick up, order only.

I got in pretty damn quick, quick enough where the 3rd for delivery was still possible.

I always was able to get in store pick up, it’s how I bought my 6 plus which also was a very sort after iPhone.

Possibly not all Apple stores were offering this?

Apple has always been very particular with shipping addresses. I have found if they think it is Street - then St. causes an error. Must match on file or credit card exactly

Same thing happened to me. It kept rejecting it for about 3 minutes. Finally got order placed at 8 minutes past the hour and luckily got launch day delivery.

The problem was the App Store and online store being down. Don’t even get me started with the carrier verification process.

Last year my card details failed me, Apple Pay worked.
This year Apple Pay came up with the shipment address error, my card worked.
No detail changes have been made to either methods.
PS: Everything took 2 minutes and I got a launch day delivery. I was also fully prepared I might have had to wait longer than that.
