Anyone else getting Tiger TODAY?

I got mine

Mine arrived this morning at 10 am (sweden). Installed it just before I had to leave for work.... and here I am, with my "trusty" a Wintel machine and Tiger sitting alone at home waiting for me...:(
I noticed one thing though when I installed the program. The installation made me set up a iTunes account!!!! Sadly enough I cant find the Swedish flag at the iTMS. :confused:

Don't they leave a note on the door, and you can go to the facility at like 5pm to get it?
 
Got Mine!

Saw this morning at work that mine had been shipped. Checked the status on FedEx.com and saw that it was at the facility near my work, but had not been loaded on the truck yet or anything. So, for lunch, I promptly drove over and picked it up from the facility rather than waiting for it to be delivered...just in case.

Now, my problem is that I'm here at work staring at my Tiger DVD and can't wait for the end of the day to get here so that I can go home and install it!

Hello all, New member here and wanted to say thanls for a great site!
Well I finally got it today. wes tempeted to leave and get something to eat
across from my house When what do I see? A Fedex truck so I rush to the corner and he vanishes down the street. So I turn around and grab my
bicycle and start riding around looking for him. Ahhh haaa I see the truck
down a few blocks. So I start racing down the street (mind you I'm on a crusier) hoping to catch him before he is off. finally get to the truck but no driver.. he is not there so I wait. he come back to the truck I ask if he has a pkg and he says YES!! Now I have my Tiger.


End of my simple story.

It's taunting me! I can hear it!

I'm surprised they gave it to you. I tried to do this with my iPod and was told the FedEx contract with Apple requires signature at the specific delivery location. I would have thought a photo ID at pickup was secure, but they told me it had to delivered. Anyway, you're one of the lucky ones...Enjoy.
 
Got it this morning!!

I received my copy late this morning (ET). I of course immediately installed it. I simply did an upgrade (unchecking all the extra languages and fonts of course). It went very fast and smooth. The install program seemed more responsive. Afterwards, I had no problems with any of my apps or hardware. I have to say, Spotlight rocks, as does Dashboard. I used to have Konfabulator, so I am familiar with how it works. Apple's version is much nicer. Its faster and when you click on the widget to change settings, the settings actually come up properly. Half the time in Konfab. the settings didn't work (not just on one machine either...but every machine I installed it on). The ripple effect when you add a widget is kinda cool, but no big deal, so if your machine doesn't support it, don't think you are getting cheated.

If you don't have Tiger, go get it tomorrow from Apple or order it. Its definitely worth the investment.
 
the install makes you create an iTunes account?

I just read one post from Sweden. He says the Tiger install made him create an iTunes account. This doesn't seem right to me. When I installed Tiger today, I didn't see anything remotely related to iTunes during the install. Its a very odd comment and I wonder if this user is telling his story correctly.
 
I've been waiting for the truck to come since 8am, as I don't have class untill 6PM. I hope it comes soon so I will have enough time to install it and play with it a bit before I have to take off for class.
 
Tennessee = Early?

My copy of Tiger arrived today at approximately 1:00 PM. It was shipped from Tennessee on April 27th with scheduled delivery on April 29th. Most of the early arrivals appear to be from this location.

The shipping label reads:

"FEDERAL EXPRESS **2 DAY** Ship Date: 04/27/05 Deliver by 29APR05

I've never had a package arrive a day before the estimated arrival date. Weird.

Anyway, I wish I had time to install it now but will probably not touch it for another 2 weeks or so. The semester is winding down, and I have several projects and tests rapidly approaching. Not to mention final exams...yuck.

To everyone else, let us know what your first impressions are. If you find any helpful tips or tricks in the install process, let us know. I do find some comfort in knowing that even while not running Apple's latest OS, Panther is still light-years better than Windows.
 
Mine is still on the truck somewhere since 7:28 am. I got no notice of failed delivery, so it is still coming I hope.
 
Just got it 5min. ago! Transferring some files to CDs to do a clean install now. BTW, not sure if someone on this or another board asked this, but there IS an iWork'05 demo disc in there. Also, some people who purchased Tiger with an EDU. discount wondered if we were going to receive retail copies of this. Don't worry, we do. It came in the box that I'm sure will be available in stores tomorrow! Now...time to install!

I signed my package from Fedex an hour ago, GRRRRRRR

I just finished cloning my drive, 10.3.9

I'm installing it right now as I'm typing this using another Mac.


NOTE: I ordered it from Apple on Monday this week and it arrived today, Thursday. NOT Bad!!

I've got my copy :D :cool:
Finder is a little buggy right now and the beachball is coming everynow-n-then and GUI has ahd a MAJOR improvement. Other than that we're good.....so far.
