I have a Macbook Pro mid-2012, it's only a year and a month old. So I'm one month out of warranty, and two of my keys are not working properly. Yesterday my 'P' key starts giving me a 'P:' instead of just a P. And now the ';' semicolon key is giving me a 'p;' when I press it.

I don't have any liquid damage, that I know of, keep my laptop very clean and use a keyboard protector.

Went to the Genius bar and they quoted me $180 approx to replace the entire keyboard. Since I'm a month out of warranty, I'm not sure what else I can do about it.

It just frustrates me that I spent 1000 dollars on a laptop and after only one year of using it. I have to fork over almost two hundred dollars to replace a keyboard! With this kind of quality - I'm not sure I'll ever go back to apple for a laptop again.

the only problem that ive had with mine, although i dont think its actually physical but rather software, my keys tend to not register my press no matter how hard I hit it.

Rarely does it occur, and i cant tie it to anything related to how i use it, but thats my only issue. I havent gone to the apple store to get it checked out due to their high price of repair
