I've had my Gold i6 for about a week, and I noticed a couple days after I unboxed it that there were some weird black marks at the very edge of the screen were the white part meets the gold backing. They looked like scuffs, and I was disappointed because I bought the phone brand new, but it was in a case anyway and they were pretty small so I dismissed it. But today I got a baby wipe and wiped the scuffs with the wipe over my fingernail and they came right out! Like it was dirt or something.

I'm wondering if anyone's experienced the same thing. I'm a little worried about how the marks got there; if there's a little gap between the screen and the aluminum backing big enough for things like dust to get in. This was the case with my old phone and dust was able to get into the front camera and ruin it very easily.

I only had a tiny bit of glue that I rubbed off, it went in between the gaps and didn't look great but it finally came out.

I have marks at the same place as you, which a haven't touched.. furthermore i've had pretty obvious marks on the aluminum not far from the marks on the edge, these were relatively easy to remove.
I'm not going to send it back for cosmetic reasons, but it's still disappointing that the quality control is so bad for the iPhone 6, i don't hope it's a trend going forward for apple...

Apple QC has been poor ever since the iPhone 5 in my experience.

Sounds like just dirst collected there... Not unusual on previous models. Not sure why people are talking about quality control and what not. I doubt the phone came like this out of the box.

Does your case have a black soft lining? If so, then the dye coloring the case material is transferring on to the phone. I see it all the time on white iPhones with cases.

At least it wipes off. Those who use clear skins and get the marks, the transfer onto the clear skin is permanent, and the only way to fix it is to peel off the skin.
