On my phone I can't say I care. On other devices I don't like it at all. For example, on my desktop browser menus have been at the top so I naturally look there. Websites are not going to change and I have been doing this for 40 years. Moving the search bar is not an innovation.

Nope, the bottom is where most active controls should really be in my opinion. It takes a bit of adjusting to in some apps because of the move BUT the move itself is a good thing.

Nope, its exactly how it should be, and you "hate it" because it's different and requires rewiring some muscle memory.
Wow! Thank you, i really appreciate it. I almost had an independent thought but thank you for explaining to me why I hate.

i dont like it - in my mind search stands above all because it searches through that content - not below ...

I prefer the bottom for the iPhone, certainly. It makes sense and I’m used to it.

But if they’re going to offer to switch to the top in some apps (calls, contacts, safari) it should be in the HIG and suggested to all developers to follow the same. Standard bottom only, OR standard bottom and give the option for top bar search to the user to select ‘classic mode’ for all/any apps

My preference is to have them on the bottom. That's where the typing will happen with closer proximity to my fingers.
