First off, I'm not a 6 plus user. But I have the same issue occasionally. I use my pinky to support the bottom of the phone. I've done this with every phone I've had. Incredible, GSIII, Z10, iPhone 4s,5,5c, HTC M8, and my Moto X.

Currently I have the Moto X and it's pretty comfortable, but it's thicker, curved and smaller than the 6 plus. The iPhone 4s is pretty weighty and it will make my pinky sore after prolonged use, but it isn't near as large, just heavy.

So yes, you're not alone!

I also have a visual representation, curtesy of the iPhone 4s :)

Basically the weight rests on the pinky. I can wrap my hand around the side, but that makes it much more difficult to use.

OP, YES!

After about two weeks with my 6 Plus my pinkie finger started hurting and even my wrist was sore. It was because the 6 Plus is just so damned heavy!

I actually switched to a regular 6 because of this. It's much lighter.
Heavy??? Seriously....

There's a class action lawsuit brewing here. Where's a skanky lawyer when he or she is needed?

Call Saul! You know he's coming back in February with his own show.

Oh and no pinky soreness here. I go back and forth from portrait to landscape mode and 99% of the time use landscape when texting. If I do a lot of texting then my thumbs might get a little sore but that's due to the repetitive motion and not the phone.

Heavy??? Seriously....

Um, yeah?

iPhone 5S: 3.95 ounces
iPhone 6: 4.55 ounces
iPhone 6 Plus: 6.07 ounces

Going from a 5S to a 6 is just a 15.2% increase in weight, however going from a 5S to a 6 Plus is a 53.7% increase in weight.

So yeah, going from a 5S to a 6 Plus (which is what I did, as well as OP) is a dramatic increase in weight.

Even going from 6 to a 6 Plus is a 33.4% increase in weight.

So yeah. Heavy.

I use to have this issue in the 5s using a tech21 mesh case. The bottom of the case was kind of sharp and sitting on my pinky most of the time and .. Man it hurt after some use. I actually put it on my wife's phone to see if she had the Same issue and she did. So now with the 6+ ... I don't have the same issue even though i do put my pinky under the phone for support. I use the spigen ta case.

Omg.... I'd suggest you a little more workload in a gym.... Whole 6 ounces.... I'm impressed
I think my 4 years old son using my Lumia 1520 is a sort of a phenomenon then

If you bend your phone just right, then your pinky won't hurt anymore.

Pinkygate solved with bendgate.

Now, if the phone would just stop pulling out the hair on my knuckles, then I can take care of hairgate.

Um, how is the hair on your knuckles getting pulled by your phone? Even a chimp should have no issue.

Do you know the difference between relatively heavy and absolutely heavy?

Are you at least familiar with the concepts of relative vs. absolute qualities?

Maybe start there. Do a little reading. Come back when you've figured it out perhaps.

Yes the force of the phone sitting on my finger hurts after a while. I have to switch around the way I hold the phone. Its nice to know I'm not the only one.

No finger sore and any kind of pain... but but but.... i use a plastic case and most of the times almost after i grap it my fingers get sweat... funny but true :p

I agree. Not only is the 6+ much bigger than the 5/5S, it also weighs significantly more. It's the heaviest phone I've had for years.

It is heavy, for a phone. When you've spent a couple of years with the 5/5S, the 6+ feels like a house brick. It is much bigger and, surprisingly for Apple, weighs a ton.

You really hate that phone.... Why don't you spare yourself the pain and just sell it ?
I'm sure you could find a perfect droid on the market.....

I do hate it☺️
I resent needing to go out and buy a new phone having only owned the most expensive phone on the market for less than two months. I've just bought a new laptop and have other expenses, but having said that I certainly can't see me lasting until the 6S is released.

Good luck, may I recommend the Oneplus One :) very nice it is, in the short term I fondled one it felt fantastic. No idea about memory though, like the 6+ it just works.

I also have a OnePlus One and there are complaints about that model just as there are about the 6 Plus. The most common problems seem to be a yellow lower screen, touchscreen issues, and random reboots.

I really haven't experienced these issues on my OPO, to be fair, but I read about them quite often. Also, I'm glad the OPO is relatively cheap, because service from OnePlus is abysmal. Service is one area where Apple really seems to shine.

I have the exact opposite "problem". The iPhone 6 Plus actually cured this problem for me.

I got to nearly despise the iPhone 5 because of the uncomfortable squared edges shape, which coupled with the lightning port made for some uncomfortable digging into the ole pinky finger.

Enter the iPhone 6 plus with its rounded edges and no more pinky annoyance for me. The lightning port is now even beveled and smooth.

No soreness here, but what exactly are you using your pinky finger for? Is it positioned underneath the phone? If so, you might be inviting carpal.

The bottom of the phone rests on my pinky...I am revisiting this, as I am tempted to pick up a 6 Plus again...

Did you end up buying a 6+ ?

You're holding it wrong! :p

Seriously, I either hold it like this and can pretty well operate it with my thumb, or monkey grip it and operate it with my other hand.

Neither inflicts pain on my pinky.

The sharp edge on the headphone jack hurts my pinky when I hold it like you describe in my right hand. The speaker/microphone holes are kinda sharp also.

This is it!

the phone is not heavy, i just notice the sharp edge of the headphone jack digs into my pinky finger.
Like the feel of the phone resting on my "pinky shelf"

hurts a bit worse this week after i cut the side (inside) of my pinky and the edge hits the cut mark.
