Sometimes if I go direct into the camera app it will just be a view of like your switching to the camera app where you know the view is a blur, even changing the styles has no effect. The only way to get the camera app to work is to force close it and open it up again, while being random I have managed to get screen shots of it.

This has been a long-standing issue since the initial release of iOS 26 for some people, me included. More often than not when it does happen on my iPhone 17 Pro Max I just get a black screen that I have to come out of the app and go back in again.

Which phone, what version (specifically - i.e. 26.2.1), How much free storage?
(All available from Settings > General > About; Model Name, iOS Version, Available)

Does switching to Selfie cam & back make a difference ?
If equipped with more than one back camera, does switching Zoom values make a difference?
Call or chat AppleCare & ask for a remote hardware diagnostic.

It's doesn't matter it's a ios 26 issue.. the poster above me has the same issue as I do (I have the 16 pro) between that and the keyboard I wished I waited before switching.

Yep sometimes it's a black screen and I'd have to do like you said no way in the world Job's would've allowed this to happen.

Same here!

My GF's iPhone 14 Pro does this when it's cold. Every iOS version if I recall. Is it below 5 degrees Celsius (41 in weird units ;-p) where you are?
