Syncing my ipod touch to itunes is usually a multistep process:

1. Open itunes, plug in ipod
2. Itunes automatically starts syncing
3. After several minutes (20+), no progress coming, I cancel sync, eject ipod.
4. Itunes freezes, must reboot.
5. Repeat this several times until it finally works

Anyone else have problems like this and possible remedies? Needless to say this makes syncing it a total pain! When the ipod was new syncing took 2 minutes max, unless I was adding several videos. And yes, I have newest itunes and ipod updates.

My suggestion would be to reset the ipod, wipe it clean.
