Anyone else know traffic update is working?

Hello, i might be mistaken, but i thought the first day on the maps application the traffic update was not working. yesterday i clicked it and it does work. has it always been working or was i really not dreaming?

Traffic on maps has always been a working feature. Sometimes I have noticed that it will pop up and say something like unable to get traffic but for the most part it works well.
