I'm mostly interested in the PixelQI screen tech. That's probably something we'll see in an iPad in a few years.

I did at one time but I'll be honest. I don't like the way it looks but one of the main reasons is. It's a start up company in India. It's still not clear how support/warranty will be handled. Would I have to ship this thing overseas to have it serviced.

Also the preorder fiasco, I don't know something just doesn't seem honest. I'm sure they'll have their fans, wait I know they do but unless they get Amzaon,CDW, BestBuy to stock them they won't have a major impact and will probably either get bought out or fold

Does it feel like the website is missing quite a bit of information? It seems like they completely glossed "Software" over..

Wow, another Android thread on the Mac Rumors forum. I guess like Andriod, the Andriod Rumors website sucks too.

Oh dear. I guess there's no chance you'll be cancelling your pre-order for the Etch-O-Sketch 4.0 for an Adam then?

Maybe the Etch-O-Sketch has a spell checker for you.

:D

Adam? Already had one...wasn't all that impressed.

After checking their blog I noticed, "Something which no other device will be able to do for a looooong time! Swivel camera is something we have a lot of expectation from. It’s a real big advantage. That’s Rohit by the way."

Yeah right, just like a Vaio subnotebook circa 2000.

Regardless I actually like some of what their OS is doing.

To be honest, I am really looking forward to buying one. I have a 32 gig wifi iPad that I absolutely love, but I think the Adam would be a fun device to have. Will it replace my iPad? Absolutely not, but I do believe that it will be one of the better Android tablets for awhile. I want to see what all the hype is about Android tablets and this will probably be the tablet I'll get. That's my .02 cents.

I like the concept and some of the design&UI elements but the whole thing from its custom UI to the design has that "trying too hard and not enough polish" feel to it. (hands-on demo: http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/05/notion-ink-adam-hands-on-preview-video/ )

From what we've seen in short videos so far, I much prefer the RIM Playbook over both the Adam and the Xoom/Honeycomb. It seemed more understated yet polished and more intuitive in terms of UI.

Not to thread de-rail but....

All you former Adam (or Atari, Commodore, etc.) owners remember what it was like to load via cassette tape drives? I still remember setting an application to load via tape, getting up and running to go to the grocery store, coming home and HOPING it didn't crap out during the loading process.

And today we complain that 7500RPM drives are just "too slow."

I thought it was about the ADAM computer as well... I was a TRS-80 / TI99-4A kid in High school... circa 1980

I had a TI99-4A. Parents got it for me when I was in the 5th or 6th grade but that's what turned me on to computer. I had got so good at writing BASIC programs buy the time I got to 7th grade my teacher would let me play games while she taught the class. She just gave me the test on test days...
