Definitely loved the two tone, even if they just merge a black screen w/ silver back. Really would like to see a shiny silver w/ black screen, like the stainless steel Apple Watch, but probably not going to happen w/ JB as an option.

Side note, would have been awesome to have gold and rose gold antenna bands, seems like a no brainer iteration, but we never got this.

Never like the space grey to be honest. The matte black is stealthy looking, although I recently purchased a brown leather nomad case for mines and it looks pretty good.

How you liking the quality of the leather ? Just bought mine today, the grey one. My phone comes in tomorrow, couldn't be more excited lol

I liked the original space grey that debuted with the iPhone 5S. That was the darkest version Apple ever did and was a nice middle ground between the slate finish on the iPhone 5 and plain aluminum. But on the 6 series and later, space grey became just a slightly darker shade of silver and I wasn't as big of a fan. Also, the new matte black looks really really nice!

Honestly I think the 5s colors were the best iPhone colors ever. The gold was a more subtle, classy "champagne" gold. Space Grey was darker and the silver just seemed to pop a little better. No idea why they change things up with the 6 series.

I just wish more colors didn't have the white front... then I would barely care what I had. :)

This. I would have gotten silver if the front was black, I don't like the way the white looks. The flat black is very sharp looking now that I have it though.

I like the double colors. iPhone 5 slate was tbe best color combo ever, 5S/SE with the space grey is great too.
This.

I was really hoping the matte Black would look slate-ish, but it doesn't. It's just boring black.

No. it was never grey anyway. It was silver.
There have been darker Space Gray variants. Those were always my favorites.

I have had iPhones in the 3,4,5 & 6 and Space Gray has been my favorite color, would have ordered it again had it been available. I love the combo of the all black face with the military aircraft look of dark silver.

The rumored blue color that was floating around pre-announcement was pretty awesome too, totally would have went for that, medium blue anodized with a navy blue bezel....yeah, that would have been sick.

That bieng said, I am going with get-right-down-to-business matte black on my 7+.

Nope. People liked space grey because it was the "black" colored iPhone. Now we have real black.
Having said that, I do want more colors. Nanochromatic. I mean black is nice, but clearly Apple has ignored the gold/rose gold colors as they don't even care to color match the freakin white antenna bands, but they did so for the black one.

I wouldn't have minded a dark blue color, but it really doesn't matter since mine is in a case and I never hardly see the back of it.

I'm sorry Space Gray is no longer a color option. I got matte black. Would love a rose gold with a black front.

I think the rose gold is great with the white. The regular gold on the other hand would do great being paired with black. Or alternatively I would love Apple to steal the Blue Coral color from the Note 7. (blue front and black with gold accents).

I like the double colors. iPhone 5 slate was tbe best color combo ever, 5S/SE with the space grey is great too.

Only on the iPhone 5 design series like 5s and SE.

Nay to the space gray from the 6 series.

When I saw the OnePlus 3, I was hardly impressed by its design. Apple hasn't wowed me in phone design in years. Maybe since iPhone 5s? Or maybe the 4? I knew while matte black iPhone 7/7+ will be more resistant to smudges as jet black, it just felt kinda meh in design. Mainly because I really wasn't in love with the slate iPhone 5 either thanks to Scuffgate.

Neither black options are terrible. You can argue both options are the best for the 6-like series design. Black looks a darker shade of the space gray with a hint of slate 5 that I didn't care for. While jet black could be ugly in real life and sleek in promo shots. A slight throwback to the 3G/3Gs. I just figured both black options would lose their luster rather quickly once the excitement of getting it wore off.

Only took a few days for the luster to wear off to the thread starter with the matte black. Millennial ADHD alert! Just kidding! ;)

No way. In my opinion, the space gray on the 5s and SE are the UGLIEST colors Apple has ever produced. The bodies are WAY too light to match the pure black glass parts I feel.

I have yet to go to the Apple Store to take a look at the iPhone 7, but from the videos and pictures, I prefer Black over Space Grey. However, I love both just as much. Silver is also great but I don't like the white display. I don't like Slate though, it's too dark.

I do miss the iPhone 4 and 5 colors. I did have front and back Zagg protectors on both of these..maybe I overdid it, but I never had a single scratch on those in the 2 years I had each of those models. I have the 6+ Space Gray...if I get the 7, still debating if I go for Jet Black+ (My number 1 choice..however I still have to see how bad these scratches really are in the next few weeks on the forum - even with clear cases) or the Matte Black+.

I always thought all black was slick.

I certainly liked it, but won't miss it. Time for a change. Very much looking forward to the matte black.

I miss it. I still have my iPhone 6 with space grey and wish they had it this time around.

I am not saddened that they chose to instead focus on black this time around. I'm more sad that my favorite choice ended up being everyone else's favorite too. :(
