I barely use it at all. Really don't have much use for it. Every now and then maybe ill ask her something but since owning the phone, ie used it for legitimate purposes maybe 5 times

I use it more than I expected:

  • Remind me to pick the kids up at 3:00pm
  • Remind me to pick up milk when I leave home.
  • Play some rolling stones
  • Set a timer for 15 minutes
  • Remind me to turn off the sprinkler in 45 minutes.
  • Remind me to buy a birthday card next week.
  • Remind me to buy gas when I leave work
  • Tell <person> I'm on my way

They all work first time. Right from the lock screen. It's great - and kind of spooky too!

Other folks mentioned looking up area codes and word definitions. I just tried those (along with zip code lookup). Cool.

I use it to set my alarm, change songs in the iPod, check weather, set reminders, and sometimes to text. I have noticed it does not make as many mistakes on the 5 as it did on the 4S. I guess because of the improved microphone.

I didn't know I can have her read the last text. I need to see what she is capable of. I love using the microphone to write out my words when I can't type everything. I think voice recognition is hit or miss. I remember one time on my other phone I asked it to type something simple like "What's up?" and a sentence with a curse word was given. Mind you, I never saved that curse word in the dictionary. Was very funny.

Honestly I have very limited use for it. I use it to set reminders and appointments, search the web but rarely, check the temperature and on very rare occasions send a text to a specific person when driving.

Other than that I even forget that Siri is even there. I actually find Google now to be more useful and accurate when doing searches. It's a shame actually because I'm really an Apple fan and almost all my tech and gadgets are made by Apple but I fear they are beginning to fall behind in certain respects.

I use Siri occasionally. But, I have my iPhone set to UK English for the keyboard and region settings (my preference). So, I get the UK Siri, which is a male voice with a British accent.

That goes over with my wife a lot better and I get fewer snide comments about me talking to my "girlfriend." :D

Just used it once to try it out. I had pretty much forgotten about it until this thread. Maybe I should try it again. Lol

Omg, I'd love a British male/female Siri.

you can change the siri language/region separately from everything else, I have UK keyboard and British language set and can change siri to English (US) without it changing anything else, heck I can have siri in Chinese if I want, not much use though lol :)

Cool, thanks. I think I will keep the British Siri though.

Keeps the peace. ;)

Only thing I use it for is reminders, it's to slow for everything else. The fact that Siri talks back to you trying to act like its a conversation is pointless. It just slows the whole thing down.

So I use a jailbreak tweak and activator together to use google search/google now with a triple click of the home button. Triple click opens the google search app and automatically has it listening for your command already. I use this for everything but reminders.
