Carrier Anyone else notice AT&T Wi-Fi calling being used more lately?

I turn off cellular if calling around home. wifi calling much better quality. one can also switch during a call if forget before beginning.

To turn off cellular calling do you just turn on airplane mode then WiFi?

I always have wifi on, I just touch toggle off cellular in control center. I have to touch back on at some point to show visual voice mail.
my airplane mode appears to turn off everything.

Wonder why ATT doesn't offer wifi calling on it's prepaid service. Seems like a no brainer.

Yes that is how I use it but you can also just turn off Cellular. I also noticed the favoring of Wi-Fi Calling right after I got AT&T Carrier Update 30.1 that enabled LTE Band 8 for Puerto Rico Disaster recovery using Google's Project Loon as of Oct. 20.

Note: How do I update iPhone carrier settings? Make sure your device is connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, you'll see an option to update your carrier settings.

You are correct. At work we're next to a Verizon tower. So I unchecked that and WiFi calling is not turning on so - you're right, that's just cellular data. (At home I'm on wifi-calling cuz of poor cellular so I thought that was activating that, lol).
