4s to 5s to 6s +. I enjoy the s cycle and think of it as a refined phone. It's considered a "tock" cycle but I have yet to be disappointed.

I find that I'm more excited about the S series than I am about the non-S series.

I'm upgrading from the 5S to the 6s+ with an expected delivery date of 10/14. Previously I had the 4S. It's funny because the 4S and 5S are the best selling phones in Apple history and so far as the best longevity. I feel like the new series phones are only for trial purposes whereas the S series it's perfected. I mean the 6S has Force Touch! The 5S had a finger print sensor and twice the speed.

The next phone I get of course will be the 7S or whatever they call it. I will not be guinea pig for the 7. Now everyone is wanting the 6S! It just cooler I guess.

Anyone else on the same upgrade path?

The only problem with the S Series is in year two when it becomes an old phone. The non-S Series phones stay current and relevant for two full years. Of course if the new design is nasty then nobody on the S cycle would mind that but the i7 is expected to lose bezel size and possibly even the home button. In my opinion the 6 Series is a poor design with its big bezels, weight, and protruding camera. Still, there's no disputing that the 6S will be the best iPhone since the iPhone 5 and will finally get the RAM that the 5S should have had. I don't see any real negatives to getting a 6S as it's a massive performance increase.
