Yes, it is definitely an outstanding App now. Probably the single most overhauled and enhanced App in iOS 10. It is the product of many years of using Maps and collating the different activities, patterns, and workflows that users go through. They are now all available as single taps. Really, really great.

Other than the narrow navigation (rough on the eyes) guide line it's improved.

I was surprised a bit when I first turned it on after installing beta, but after some getting used to, I really like it.

Much easier in-app navigation, easier controls and overall much, much faster. Definitely one of the strongest iOS 10 features!

Why won't google maps / Apple maps add crowd traffic speed? If they did would drop waze

I have used Apple Maps exclusively for driving in iOS 9, loving its simple and clean design and very clever route planning, making almost every single drive a very smooth experience overall. I have then tried using its new version from PB2 onwards and for me it has been a major disappointment so far, so I currently use Waze instead. Maps did add some useful features (avoid tolls, traffic colours, search bar at the bottom), but they also lost a 3D in driving mode, their dynamic zoom on approaching turns/roundabouts is patchy and it takes ages to calculate the route and load the map, compared to Waze. I have timed them both out of curiosity to route me to the same location from a cold start (none of the apps were running) and Maps took 24 seconds, while Waze took 5! And we are talking about Apple's own app that is built into their OS. Not cool at all. We still have about two weeks until the official release, so, hopefully, things might improve, but for now it has been quite a disappointment.

I was forced into a situation to use Apple Maps last week on iOS 9. I was routed through the official Starbucks app link and it drove me straight past the store.

    One use, one failure.

Until this type of stuff gets fixed, everything else is just fluff. Google Maps / Waze for me.

I've had Google Maps and Waze both do much worse to me. You can't judge a maps app on one use.

I have google maps as well but I use Waze for driving.
Google maps is used only for finding POIs and transit.

I also like the transit widget in maps. Shows delays and updates.

Ive been trying to use Apple Maps for years (so I can use Siri). Every time I give it a chance, I quickly laugh the app back into my "Do Not Use" Apple apps folder.

Not sure if you're outside the US, but for POI inside the US, Apple Maps doesn't hold a candle to either Gmaps or Waze.

EDIT: Just for kicks I did a search for the nearby Starbucks in the area I'm staying at this weekend. Apple Maps found one location in Hanford, Google correctly showed all three. If you would like to test yourself, the area is Hanford, CA. and look for the stores that say Hanford.

I'm firmly in the US and use Apple Maps as my daily maps app. Used to use Google for transit but deleted it after iOS 9. Stopped using Waze for directions after it tried to get me on the freeway to get to the same BART station 3 blocks away 4 times in a row.

Do you live in the middle of a forest by any chance?

I live in two of the most populated places in the country: NY/NYC and SoCal. In any case, have fun with Apple Maps. Can I add you on Ping?

How does the parked car feature work? Does it work on the iPhone 6? Do you have to switch anything on in particular (frequent locations) or does it just know?

i believe the OP was referring to the redesigned maps app in iOS 10. sounds like you're still talking about maps in iOS 9

Correct me if I'm wrong, but OS version doesn't impact incorrect POI, just the options / interface.

Found a few other sources that say the same thing as well.

I see you're a fan of the Washington Capitals.

Again, have fun with Maps! I hope you think of me when you end up in the wrong place :D.

I liked Apple maps before iOS 10, but since the update it's even better.

Maps on iOS 10 is great, major improvement over iOS 9.

To be honest, 2 language keyboard and the new maps are the only benefits for me in iOS 10.

BlackBerry 10 has had a 3 concurrent language keyboard since the beginning, which is not enough.

Maps is a vast improvement compared to prior versions. Even rivals Google Maps for looks. However, at the heart of the system, it's still inferior. There are still many things I look up in Apple Maps that are not found but the same thing is easily found in Google Maps. I still have to rely on Google. Apple maps has this flaw that if you don't type the name exactly, it won't find it or it will find something not even close to what you want.
